Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Living Apart Amid Breakup Rumors
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are no longer living together.
After nearly two years of marriage, the “Maid in Manhattan” star and the Oscar winner are living apart, according to Access Hollywood and People.
This update comes shortly after Lopez, 54, attended the 2024 Met Gala without Affleck, 51. His rep told E! News that the actor was busy filming “The Accountant 2” in Los Angeles, which is why he couldn’t be with the “On the Floor” singer at the New York City event, which Jennifer Lopez co-hosted with Vogue’s Anna Wintour, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, and Bad Bunny.
News of the couple’s living situation comes ahead of their second wedding anniversary.
Lopez and Affleck, who rekindled their relationship in 2021 nearly two decades after calling off their first engagement, officially married in a Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022.
“We did it,” the “Hustlers” actress wrote in a July 17 on the Julo newsletter after the wedding. “Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient. Exactly what we wanted.”

The “Selena” star — who has 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband Marc Anthony — and the “Air” director — who shares custody of Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner — went on to have a second wedding ceremony in Georgia in August 2022.
The marriage milestone marked a full-circle moment for the pair, whose romance first began in the early 2000s.
As Jennifer Lopez explained to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in 2022, their 2004 breakup — partly due to intense media scrutiny — was deeply painful.
“When we chose not to get married 20 years ago, it was the most devastating moment in my life,” she said.
“I truly felt like my world was crumbling.” Jennifer Lopez further explained that the breakup “plunged me into a downward spiral for the next 18 years where I struggled to find my footing. But now, two decades later, it does have a joyful resolution. It has the kind of ending that you wouldn’t expect to see in Hollywood.”
Though the duo was thrilled at their reconciliation, they admitted to having different perspectives on public life.
Reflecting on their relationship from the early 2000s in Lopez’s documentary “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” Affleck remarked, “When we decided to give it another shot, I expressed, ‘Listen, one thing I prefer is to keep our relationship private, away from social media.’ Then, I realized it’s not a reasonable request.” “It’s like deciding to marry a boat captain and then saying, ‘But I don’t enjoy being on water,'” he elaborated.
“We’re just two people with different approaches trying to learn to compromise.”
